Join us for the world premiere of Caravan of Hope, a feature-length documentary about the historic 1982 Easter Sunday caravan from Memphis to Mound Bayou, Mississippi, mobilized through 1070 WDIA radion station.
On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, we will gather in Mound Bayou to mark forty-four years since families loaded up their vehicles and drove 104 miles in solidarity with a town facing crisis after hearing the call broadcast over WDIA. The event will take place at the North Bolivar Consolidated School District Auditorium, located at 204 N Edwards Avenue in Mound Bayou, the same location where the historic check was presented in 1982.
The red carpet begins at 2:00 PM, followed by the screening at 3:00 PM. After the film, stay for a panel discussion featuring individuals who were part of that historic moment.
This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required for entry, but reserving a seat is strongly recommended so we can plan accordingly and ensure a quality experience for all attendees.
Join us in honoring a legacy of solidarity, self-determination, and community action.
